Churches
Viborg CathedralViborg Cathedral dominates the city skyline and the two towers can be seen from far away. Archaeological excavation indicates that a church has been situated here since the Viking Age (approximately 1130). The present cathedral dates from 1876 and is one of the largest granite churches in Northern Europe. Inside, the cathedral is decorated with impressive murals - an enormous picture bible - painted by Joakim Skovgaard. The seven-armed candlestick from the late 15th century also makes the cathedral well worth a visit.

Asmild Klosterkirke
Asmild Kirke is more than 900 years old, and is a treasure among the oldest churches in Denmark. Today the Asmild Kirke is a simple one-naved parish church. The grandiose late renaissance altar piece is from 1625.
